Rules:
a. You must complete a registration form and return it with the entry fee 72 hours prior to scheduled competition.
b. Each contestant must be at least 9 years old.
c. Any contestant not 18 years old must have parental consent and parental signature on entry form.
d. Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and will be limited to the amount of performance time available. Most of our events fill up early, and people must be turned away, so please send your entries in very early.
2. REGISTRATION FEE:
a. A contestant must complete a registration form and pay the entry fee of $75.00 for each competition they wish to enter. He or she may enter more than one competition. The fee may be paid by credit card, money order, or cashiers check and must be received by said deadline.
b. Ifa contestant should decide to drop out of the American Star Talent Competition, any entry fee paid will not be refunded.
3. DISPUTES:
a. All decisions made by the judging panel, directors, and producers are
final. A panel of competent judges will judge contestants. All entrants agree that the time, manner, and method of judging, shall be solely within the discretion of the directors and producers of American Star Talent Competition.
b. A contestant may be disqualified for failure to comply with any and/or all of the rules and regulations.
c. A contestant cannot in any way converse or communicate about the show with any of the judging panel at anytime during the season.
d. A contestant may be disqualified immediately from any level of the competition if he or she commits any act that would adversely reflect on American Star Talent Competition, Jukebox JunctionTheater, other venues, or any of its sponsors.
4. PERFORMANCE:
a. Each contestant must be able to perform on his/her assigned date and time. Any contestant that fails to do so forfeits their entry fee as well as their chance for future placement.
b. The amount of time for each performance is limited to 3 1/2 minutes per song. Each contestant should perform a maximum two songs.
c. The person who originally registers for the competition must be the person who performs. There will be no transfer of registration numbers, any personnel changes or substitutions.
d. Each contestant must perform live vocally. Each performance must be a solo act.
e. One instrument per act will be permitted. Instruments that are
permissible are limited to acoustic guitar or piano.
f. The music categories are classic country or modern country. All performances must be done in good taste. No offensive lyrics will be permitted.
g. In the event of a tie, each judge will give a secret vote on overall performance, style, and impact.
h. Each contestant must furnish their own music on a clean good quality cassette tape or CD, marked with contestant name and number, cued and ready to start. It is recommended that you bring a second tape or CD as a backup in the event of a malfunction of original.
5. PROMOTIONAL AUTHORIZATION:
By submitting an entry form, each contestant grants American Star Talent Competition the right to utilize his/her name, likeness, image, voice, appearance, and performance in perpetuity for advertising, trade, or any other lawful promotional purposes whatsoever, in any/all media now known or later developed, without compensation.
6. ASSUMPTION OF RISK:
By submitting an entry form, each contestant assumes all risks of bodily injury (including death) or property damage that might occur during competition in American Star Talent Competition. He or she agrees not to hold liable Jukebox Junction Theater, American Star Talent Competition or any of their sponsors or employees, nor would they bring any claims against them for property damage or bodily injury.
7. ELIGIBILITY:
a. Must be at least 9 years old and able to provide acceptable documentation to prove it.
b. Must be accompanied by parent or guardian if under 18 years old.
c. Must be a solo act.
d. Must pay non-refundable registration fee of $75.00.
e. Must not have performed on a record listed in Billboard, Radio and Records or be under contract with any recording company.
f. Must not be a relative, employee, or affiliated with any of the judging panel, or the staff of Jukebox JunctionTheater, other listed venues or American Star Talent
Competition.
VIDEO TAPING AND VIDEO CAMERAS ARE PROHIBITED.
